Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors  Brian Houchins   with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce  Brian Houchins  of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to enhancing the lives of children in our community.

Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary college trainer and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven marketing campaign to improve local playgrounds, ensuring secure and inclusive play areas for all youngsters.

The award ceremony might be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The event will characteristic speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
